With afiact, any dairy operator needs no more than a few minutes each day to identify those animals eligible for breeding. AfiAct is a methodical, systemised technology that uses pedometers to monitor the movement of cows around the clock with “a pair of eyes that never close.” AfiAct is superior in accuracy and efficiency to traditional methods such as visual observation or tail-painting. Some dairy owners decide to install AfiHeat for heat detection, with a plan to later build it into the comprehensive Afimilk system. This upgrade makes full use of the pedometers and other components that are purchased with AfiHeat.

AfiHeat is based on data collected from Pedometers, an ID pedometer attached to the cow’s legs. The Pedometer Plus measures cow activity, rest time (both standing and lying) along with stress levels through measuring their performance and behaviour.

Grazing Milk Cows

AfiHeat is used effectively for grazing cows. Pasturing cows walk long distances; change grazing fields frequently, sometimes graze during the day and are confined to pens at night. AfiHeat automatically neutralises these variations, resulting in high success rates of heat detection under difficult conditions.


Whether it be in the farm dairy (via exit race or mixed in with the main herd) or with a portable ID panel AfiHeat provides consistent high rates of heat detection in heifers.

Fertility analysis

AfiHeat collects and stores a significant amount of data for farmers to review, assess and make decisions on all areas of fertility including:
